1. John Doyle (2)[1],[2],[3] was born on 7 Jan 1886 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[4],[5] He was baptized at Knockadrinan, Mohill, Co Leitrim, Ireland, on 7 Jan 1886. Religion: Roman Catholic.[6] He became engaged to Mary Diffley (3) at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland, between 1920 and 1923.[7] He married Mary Diffley (3), daughter of James Diffley (20) and Catherine Kilrane (64), on 9 Jun 1924 at Knockadrinan, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland, Best man may have been a Reynolds of Clooneagh (John's mother's family) and bridesmaid a Reynolds of Street, Clooncarne. The bride and groom went to the reception in a horse-drawn side-car, and the reception party itself was held in the Doyle house in Clooncarne. For the reception, the bride and groom supplied a half-barrel of porter and lots of soda-bread. The entertainment consisted of music on the accordions.[8],[9] John died on 10 Apr 1975 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland, aged 89.[10],[11] He was buried on 12 Apr 1975 at Cloonmorris, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[12],[13]
John (2) was listed on the roll as a student at Clooneagh, Mohill, Co Leitrim, Ireland, from Apr 1894 to 28 Feb 1902.[14] He was listed as a member of the household of Edward Doyle (5) in the 1901 census at Clooncarne, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[15] He was listed as a member of the household of Edward Doyle (5) in the 1911 census at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[16] He was a journalist in Dublin circa 1920 at Co Dublin, Ireland.[17] He resided at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland, from 10 Jun 1924 to Apr 1975.[18] He wrote Bornacoola Notes for The Leitrim Observer between 1925 and 1940[19] He worked on the Narrow Gauge railway in Dromod from 1930 to 1940 at Dromod, Annaduff, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[20] He witnessed the death of Bernard Doyle (57) on 7 Apr 1933 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[21] He witnessed the death of Joseph Doyle (58) on 13 May 1933 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[22],[23] He witnessed the death of Edward Doyle (5) on 11 Mar 1934 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[24],[25] He and Mary Diffley (3) were renowned for entertaining neighbours at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[26] One of John's interests as he grew older was in crosswords, and he avidly did the crossword in the Sunday papers. He also subscribed to Pastime Post, which was devoted to solutions to the crosswords in the Sunday Press and Sunday Independent.[27] John (2), as the father of the bride, attended Elizabeth Doyle (10) and Mick Mooney (28)'s wedding at Sandyford, Stillorgan, Co Dublin, Ireland, on 24 Apr 1954.[28],[29] He suffered from deafness in his later years. He tried but found it impossible to use a hearing aid between 1960 and 1975 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[30] He witnessed the burial of Mary Diffley (3) circa 10 Mar 1971 at Cloonmorris, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[31]

5 iv. John Doyle (19)[32],[33],[34] was born on 11 Nov 1929.[35] He died on 9 Aug 1981 at King, Washington, U.S.A., aged 51.[36],[37],[38] He was buried on 16 Aug 1981 at Cloonmorris, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[39],[40]
As of 11 Nov 1929, he was also known as Johnnie Doyle.[41] John (19) was listed on the roll as a student at Clooneagh, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland, from 1937 to 1942.[42] He emigrated circa 1950 from Ireland.[43],[44] He resided at U.S.A. from 1950 to 1981, Johnnie may have moved around a bit. He spent 9 years in California, living with Johnny Shanley of Bornacoola. Further anecdotal evidence places him as having started in New York (perhaps living with his Uncle Bernard) and later moving away. He also spent some time in Alaska. Dates are unclear though.[45] Circa 1960 Johnny got engaged while in the U.S.A. but the engagement was broken off. This was long before his accident.[46] He was paralysed following an accident from 1978 to 1981 at King, Washington, U.S.A.[47]

7 vi. Bernard Doyle (57)[48],[49] was born on 24 Mar 1933. This was a premature birth.[50],[51] He died on 7 Apr 1933 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[52] He was buried circa 8 Apr 1933 at Cloonmorris, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[53]
8 vii. Joseph Doyle (58)[54],[55] was born on 24 Mar 1933. This was a premature birth.[56],[57] He died on 13 May 1933 at Clooncarne, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[58],[59] He was buried circa 14 May 1933 at Cloonmorris, Mohill,, Co Leitrim, Ireland.[60]
Joseph may have received his name as his father John was a member of St. Joseph's Union, a charitable organisation that collected funds for Africa.[61]
